How to get a work permit or residence card?
To obtain a work permit or a residence card, you need to submit an application to the office for foreigners (Urząd do Spraw Cudzoziemców) along with a complete set of documents: an employment contract, housing confirmation, insurance, passport, and visa documents.
What should I do if I am already in Poland but don’t have documents?
Contact the office for foreigners (Urząd) to legalize your stay. You can apply for a residence card based on your work or studies. It is important not to delay the process and to have valid grounds (employment, education).
How to extend a work visa?
You can extend your work visa by submitting an application to the Polish consulate in your home country or by applying for a temporary residence card (karta pobytu) if you are already in Poland.
Is knowledge of Polish required to work in Poland?
Knowing Polish is often welcomed but not always required. For some jobs, basic communication skills or even no language knowledge are sufficient.
